About The Position

This individual provides critical operational, analytical, and administrative support to the coaching staff in a high-pressure, elite collegiate environment. This role focuses heavily on the program's video operations, spearheading detailed film breakdown, opponent analysis, and scouting preparation. Additionally, the assistant manages day-to-day logistics—including team travel coordination, oversight of student managers, and monitoring player academic progress—while assisting with on-court practice logistics. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a relentless work ethic, strong basketball acumen, and unwavering compliance with NCAA Division I, conference, and institutional regulations.

Requirements

  • Required Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to a graduate degree program at Robert Morris University.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in collegiate coaching or athletic administration.
  • First Year Graduate Student or Greater

Responsibilities

  • Manages the program's daily administrative logistics while serving as a vital bridge for player-to-coach engagement.
  • Assists in team travel.
  • Oversees the undergraduate student manager program.
  • Assists in organizing summer youth camps.
  • Monitors student-athlete academic progress and study hall attendance.
  • Acts as an accessible liaison for the student-athletes, fostering strong relationship-building, tracking player morale, and helping translate coaching expectations into daily player development.
  • Supports basic video operations.
  • Assists with on-court practice setup.
  • Ensures strict compliance with all NCAA Division I, conference, and institutional regulations.
