About The Position

Manages the day-to-day direction and operations of the memory care homes in accordance with resident needs, state and federal regulations and Winona Health policies and procedures. Duties include supporting and observing staff, working closely with residents and their families, planning and conducting staff training and coordinating education opportunities. This role supports the Administrator and Housing Manager in assisted living operations, scheduling, resident care, identifying staffing needs and budget development. This person supports the RN in the resident assessment process, service planning process and assures that resident needs are being met and necessary supplies and equipment are available for the RN and floor staff to function efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Must have knowledge of staffing guidelines and best practices for assisted living and memory care settings.
  • Must be able to participate in the provision of direct care as needed.
  • Must be able to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Must be able to provide direct mentorship of delivery of services according to individual resident care goals, needs, and close family/responsible party participation.
  • Must be able to assist with the Human Resource aspect of the department including effective hiring, coaching, monitoring of attendance, record-keeping, competencies and workplace safety.
  • Must be able to coordinate with RN the admission, daily operations and discharge processes including room turnover processes.
  • Must be able to align staffing needs to achieve desired quality of care outcomes, resident and family satisfaction and organizational goals.
  • Must be able to coordinate and oversee deployment of daily activity programming to promote optimal resident engagement.
  • Must be able to champion and lead process improvements across the organization.
  • Must demonstrate LEAN leadership through coaching, inquiry root cause analysis and removal of barriers to improved performance.
  • Must be accountable for leader's standard work and daily/weekly audits of department standard work.
  • Must encourage staff level leadership in the department.
  • Must attend mandatory staff meetings and complete mandatory educational requirements of Winona Health staff.
  • Must understand, support, and integrate into one’s position the organization’s vision/mission/values.
  • Must lead area focus boards and ensure tracking and trending of area data is current and used for improvement.
  • Must provide direct mentoring of new orientees and seasoned staff to ensure standard work is adhered to.

  • The memory care supervisor is accountable for leader's standard work and daily/weekly audits of department standard work, encourages staff level leadership in the department.
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings and completes mandatory educational requirements of Winona Health staff.
  • Understands, supports, and integrates into one’s position the organization’s vision/mission/values (see last section.)
