The Harmony Square Director (HSD) is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Harmony Square neighborhood. This role involves conducting interviews, orientation, coaching, and ongoing training of Harmony Square team members in accordance with associate training standards and regulatory guidelines. The HSD supervises and directs Harmony Square team members, including the Harmony Square Life Enrichment Assistant and PCAs/CNAs, in conjunction with the Healthcare Director. A key aspect of this role is developing, planning, and implementing purposeful resident programs to enrich the lives of residents and families within the community, as well as through outside trips and events. This includes partnering with the Life Enrichment Director for monthly planning meetings and coordinating with the entire program team to prepare planning forms, organize supplies, and plan calendars, events, and outings. The HSD develops and implements a monthly program of activities based on the dimensions of wellness, Reflections signature programs, and person-centered interests, leading 3-4 high-quality programs daily and planning weekly outings. Continuous assessment of resident needs in partnership with the community clinical team is crucial, with updates to the Healthcare Director and Executive Director regarding care and resident condition changes, initiating interventions as necessary. The role also includes participating in Resident/Family Care Conferences and the Family Call Program, utilizing and connecting with local community resources, and developing relationships with residents and families to promote satisfaction. Maintaining a stimulating, safe, and secure environment, managing the Behavior Expression process, and ensuring dining standards are met are also key responsibilities. The HSD completes state-required care plans and service plans in conjunction with the Healthcare Director, partners with the Alzheimer's Association for support group meetings, and completes necessary training and insurance to drive a company vehicle. Leadership skills, the ability to coordinate care across disciplines, daily and bi-weekly neighborhood rounds, leading daily huddles, attending Monthly Programming calls, promoting teamwork, and maintaining positive interdepartmental relationships are essential. Effective communication with resident families and completion of required training are also part of the role. A passion for working with individuals with dementia and carrying out other assigned duties are expected.
