About The Position
Southgate Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Activities/Caregiver to join their team. This role is crucial in supporting the daily engagement, well-being, and care of memory care residents. The position involves planning and leading activities specifically designed for residents with dementia, while also providing direct caregiving support when necessary. Nice To Haves
- Experience with dementia care preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead daily programs that support cognitive, social, and emotional engagement for memory care residents.
- Adapt activities to meet varying levels of cognitive ability and physical function.
- Assist with resident care, including transferring, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Help serve meals, assist residents during dining, and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Observe and report changes in resident behavior, mood, or physical condition to nursing staff.
- Ensure activity spaces and care areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Collaborate with caregivers, nurses, and leadership to support resident needs and community goals.
