About The Position

Oversees, develops and implements any and all aspects of recruitment, retention and satisfaction of Club members including prospective member and initiation processes. Develops a thorough understanding of the Club Culture and the benefits of membership. Coordinates and implements the Club's membership program and provides staff services to the Membership Committee. Works closely with Marketing, Office Managers and Event Planners. Develops and implements initiatives to promote better awareness externally and internally of Los Altos Golf & Country Club, including membership sales, membership activities, membership retention, communication and analysis of demographic data.

Requirements

  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Superior authoring, creative and communicative skills
  • Strong technical skills including sound working knowledge of various computer software programs
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisory/administrative staff, employees, guests and the general public
  • Direct and oversee the activities of the Membership Department and control its budget
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or Resort Management, Communications, Public Relations or related major strongly preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the hospitality industry

Responsibilities

  • Develop and recommend member programs
  • Manage new member process from start to completion
  • Manages New Member Onboarding program
  • Periodically train staff to be excellent LAGCC ambassadors
  • Tracks all membership leads and follow up as appropriate
  • Measures various efforts and reports measured performance to the General Manager
  • Manages Member key fob system. Handles all reporting and paperwork for Membership Committee meetings monthly
  • Manages all sales of Proprietary memberships
  • Manages the transfer of any members between categories
  • Manages and tracks new and resigned lockers in men’s and lady’s locker rooms
  • Works closely with the Membership Committee Chair
  • Attends monthly Membership Committee meetings and is an active contributor and professional liaison for the Membership Committee
  • Develop and implement new Member activities in conjunction with all department managers to provide for harmonious integration of new members through social and golf activities
  • Follow up on all resignation letters
  • Perform exit interviews and recommend alternative memberships
  • Meet with Members on a proactive basis to discuss transition opportunities for other membership classes
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, develop communication plan for annual calendar of events to increase member participation in club events
  • Assist all departments in communicating to Members various sales and events
  • Visible liaison between Club management and membership. Receives, tracks and distributes Member Feedback forms
  • Manages Member Communication via the Communications and Membership Manager
  • Coordinate with other departments Member communication programs using the Club’s website, email, and other communications vehicles
  • Ensure the Club's website remains updated with timely and relevant content to maintain and improve Member engagement. Recommend enhancements to website capabilities to further these goals
  • Managers voting for new Board of Directors annually
  • Manages any official Club voting of Proprietary members
