About The Position

The Lansdowne YMCA is looking for a Membership Representative. This is a Part Time position. We are looking for someone in the afternoons, Monday through Friday. The Membership Representative delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. They respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. The role creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum age of 16.
Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 60 days of hire.
Complete required trainings.
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
Follows and applies all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures dealing with member services. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Opens, maintains and closes cash drawer for membership sales in an accurate manner.
Enters/updates member information into computer system and maintains member files.
May monitor the locker rooms as required.
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
