Membership Representative, Springfield YMCA
About The Position
Join the welcoming team at the Springfield YMCA! We are seeking friendly, energetic Membership Representatives for a Part-Time position. Shifts include early-morning openers at on Saturday (5:45am-12pm) and Sundays (6:45am-12pm) and occasional Monday through Friday (12pm-5pm). POSITION SUMMARY: Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 16.
- Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 60 days of hire.
- Complete required trainings.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Basic knowledge of computers.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
- Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Follows and applies all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures dealing with member services. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Opens, maintains and closes cash drawer for membership sales in an accurate manner.
- Enters/updates member information into computer system and maintains member files.
- May monitor the locker rooms as required.
- Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
