The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a passionate Membership Director to oversee all aspects of membership for a Y center. This role is crucial in recruiting new members, retaining existing ones, and supervising the membership team. Requirements

A love of people with the ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment, and a can-do spirit.
The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates.
At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a customer-centric environment with demonstrated experience in generating leads and closing sales.
Previous experience managing a budget of $1.5M or greater.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience supervising a 2,500+ membership unit YMCA or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of membership for a Y center, including recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
Supervise associates within the membership department.
Lead the membership team to help children, adults, families, and communities live healthier, more connected, engaged, and positive lives.
Develop, plan, and implement new procedures and methods within Association guidelines to achieve strategic goals.
Assist the District Executive Director, Program, and Fitness Directors in the development of member-centered programs.
Perform in a leadership role as assigned to the annual fundraising campaign.
Represent the Y brand and mission through demeanor, actions, responsiveness, and friendly interactions.
Enhance the Y member experience, making the Y an enjoyable and meaningful part of their lives.
