This role involves assisting management with the supervision of associates, communicating goals, training, and providing guidance on member service. The position also focuses on promoting membership, providing excellent member service, overseeing assigned areas, completing accounting records, and developing processes to meet business needs. Requirements

  • 6 months retail experience including operating front-end equipment (for example, cash register)
  • 6 months customer service experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

  • Assists management with the supervision of associates in assigned area of responsibility by assigning duties, communicating goals and feedback, training associates, providing direction and guidance, ensuring compliance with company policies, and participating in recruiting, hiring, scheduling, promoting, coaching, and evaluating associates.
  • Communicates and supports membership by providing information on membership types, programs, and benefits, processing memberships, upgrades, and credit accounts, encouraging renewals, participating in sales and marketing events, completing documentation, and promoting the value of Sam's Club products and services.
  • Provides and ensures member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, guiding members on self-service technology, assisting with transactions, and ensuring club pickup orders are filled.
  • Oversees assigned area of responsibility by handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging merchandise, identifying shrink and damages, organizing carts/flatbeds, assisting members with transporting items, and maintaining parking lot cleanliness.
  • Completes accounting records, files transactions, and other required documentation by following procedures, providing funds for register operation, creating and interpreting financial analysis reports, assisting with investigations, preparing daily deposits, overseeing cash fund transfers, investigating overages/shortages, and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of financial and personal information.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and business partners, analyzing information, monitoring progress, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating application of these in business processes, implementing action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues.
  • Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools, determining customer needs and business priorities, coordinating and executing work assignments, providing advice, feedback, and support, and modeling and helping others adapt to change or new challenges.
