This role is responsible for providing excellent member service, maintaining the checkout area, and resolving member issues and concerns. The Member Specialist will promote Sam's Club products and services, guide members on using self-service technology, and process purchases, including payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to safety standards, conducting sweeps, and proper merchandise handling. The position involves acknowledging members, verifying memberships, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, and maintaining a safe shopping and exit environment. Additionally, the role includes reviewing member receipts, safeguarding assets by observing and reporting potential criminal activity, maintaining documentation, and executing emergency response procedures. This role also contributes to training new associates on company processes, technology, and new program rollouts, fostering continuous learning and process improvement. The Member Specialist is expected to maintain their area of responsibility, identify shrink and damages, and comply with company policies, standards of ethics, and integrity. This includes completing work assignments, collaborating with others, and adapting to change.
