About The Position

This role is for a Member Service Representative at the Gila Springs Branch in Chandler, AZ. The credit union, established in 1929, is Arizona's first credit union and is dedicated to helping members achieve financial success through quality products and services. They foster a "People Helping People" culture and are looking for individuals who enjoy helping others, building relationships, and contributing to a supportive team environment. The position involves performing a wide range of transactional duties, building and maintaining member relationships for optimal experience, and maintaining accurate transactional records. The representative will handle various member savings, checking, and credit account transactions in accordance with credit union policies and procedures, requiring effective communication skills and a positive representation of the credit union's values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Superb member service orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cash handling experience.
  • Previous experience with a credit union highly desirable.
  • Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome members in a courteous, friendly, respectful, professional, and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
  • Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, examine for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records.
  • Assist with mail or email transactions as needed.
  • Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of identification and member balances.
  • Receive consumer loan, home loan, and other payments, ensuring accuracy when posting to the computer.
  • Generate member receipts.
  • Post IRA contributions and withdrawals, open and/or close certificates of deposit.
  • Process transfers and rollovers for IRA accounts.
  • May serve as a Teller.
  • Provide transactional member service, including accepting and processing deposits, withdrawals, and payments, and handling other over-the-counter transactions.
  • Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products, services, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, including robbery procedures.
  • Promote, explain, refer, and cross-sell other credit union services such as electronic services, credit and debit cards, accounts, and loans.
  • Conduct outbound contact with existing members for follow-up, cross-sell opportunities, offers, and campaigns.
  • Open membership accounts and additional shares.
  • Process maintenance on existing accounts (name, address, beneficiary, and ownership changes).
  • Properly close accounts by member request or for beneficiary purposes.
  • Interview members for loan applications and accurately collect information to process and fund all loan types (secured and unsecured).
  • Comply with NMLS registry and training to offer home equity loan products.
  • Complete account and loan documentation.
  • May include serving as a Notary Public.
  • Scan daily work and perform other teller functions as needed.
  • Assist tellers and newer staff members as a resource for member solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve member concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training curriculum.
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  • Occasionally work at a different location if a branch needs coverage.
