About The Position

Firelands Federal Credit Union is seeking a Full-Time Member Relationship Consultant. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping people, identifying opportunities, and providing financial solutions beyond simple transactions. The consultant will combine relationship building, lending experience, and a consultative sales approach to positively impact members' financial well-being. Experience with loan applications, sales, financial products, or performance goals is beneficial, as is a passion for understanding member needs and connecting them with appropriate solutions.

Requirements

Previous lending and/or loan application experience, preferably within banking, credit union, consumer finance, or financial services.
Experience in sales or a goal-driven environment, with the ability to identify opportunities and confidently recommend products and services.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to ask the right questions, listen, and uncover member needs.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
A genuine passion for helping members improve their financial well-being.

Responsibilities

Build relationships with members and identify lending opportunities.
Connect members with financial solutions tailored to their individual needs.
Proactively identify consumer lending opportunities within the existing member base and the communities served.
Meet with members to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate loan products, structures, and ancillary products.
Receive and assist loan applicants through various channels (online, phone, in-person referrals).
Conduct loan application interviews and process applications for all consumer lending products.
Prepare and forward completed applications for underwriting.
Communicate loan decisions, next steps, and additional requirements to applicants.
Ensure consumer loan documentation is accurate, complete, and processed in a timely manner.
Identify additional opportunities where Firelands FCU can assist members beyond their immediate requests.
Build relationships and develop contacts within the community to generate referral opportunities and a future book of business.
Work towards individual and team goals while prioritizing the member's best interests.
Educate members and connect them with solutions that support their financial goals to promote financial well-being.
