Member of Technical Staff - Data Partnerships
About The Position
Latch is an applied AI research lab for computational biology. Our mission is to help humanity understand biology and disease. Our team started building software for biology. Today, we are trusted by 25,000 scientists to handle DNA, RNA, Proteins, and Spatial data. As intelligent start models eat the world of computational biology, Latch sits at the intersection of agent engineering, biological data, and the distribution of this intelligence. Seeking a member of technical staff, data partnerships, to work with biotechs, CROs, and clearinghouses to source and generate unique, high-value datasets. The data you generate will train agents on real-world R&D tasks. You will own scoping of use cases and the data curation strategy under three verticals: multi-omics, therapeutics, biosecurity.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years working hands-on with biological or biomedical data.
- A track record of finding non-obvious, omics or therapeutics data sources at scale.
- Fluency with primary literature and patent search, and the judgment to assess data quality
- Strong communicator.
- Partner mindset - You can manage relationships with many parties/vendors at once.
- Product - Skilled at scoping scientific use cases and building partnerships with vendors or clearinghouses.
- Curation Experience - You have curated omics or therapeutics data at scale before.
- Knowledge - You know where the data actually lives.
- Depth - You have biological depth in a related field.
- AI - You are resourceful in levering AI tools to build datasets across scientific domains
- Experience - 3-5+ years in industry

- Experience negotiating data partnerships or licensing agreements
- Experience building datasets for model training or evaluation
Responsibilities
- Build partnerships with data vendors, institutions, and labs, and secure access to proprietary data
- Craft high-quality, differentiated datasets that support upcoming biology benchmarks
- Source clinical and molecular datasets directly from institutions and research groups
- Creatively assemble and package public data (patents, publications, molecular atlases, clinical trials, etc.) into meaningful and realistic biological analysis tasks.
- Use bioinformatics tools to process raw datasets into useful, benchmark-ready formats.
- Work ahead of the benches, staging data before it is needed rather than after
