Flox is building the next generation of software development lifecycle tooling. They help teams create secure software by construction—managing all software and its dependencies down to the smallest package, with SBOMs and provenance included. Their products are developer tools at their core: command-line-first, systems-level, powered by Nix, built for engineers who care about how software gets made. You are first and foremost a product engineer. You will design, build, and ship the Flox platform -the CLI tools, backend services, and infrastructure that enterprises rely on to manage their software environments securely and reproducibly. You own features end-to-end, from design through production, and you care deeply about building developer tools that are correct, fast, and a pleasure to use. What distinguishes this role is how you work. You use agentic coding tools—Claude Code, Cursor, or similar—as your primary development workflow. You’ve built harnesses, written custom skills and automation scripts, and developed a practical perspective on how AI agents should work inside a professional engineering team. You ship at high velocity because of how you use AI, and you help the team do the same by building shared workflows and tooling that make agents reliable at scale. If you have tech lead experience, that’s a meaningful bonus, but the core of this role is engineering.
