About The Position

At VASA Fitness, the Member Experience Specialist is the first friendly face members encounter and helps create an inclusive, welcoming community. The role sets the tone for each visit by greeting members warmly, making personal connections, and keeping the club clean, organized, and inviting. The specialist helps members with their fitness journeys by sharing information about memberships, upgrades, and personal training options. The position is based in a fitness facility and office setting in Joliet, Illinois.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills and a professional approach.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to talk and convey detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Ability to stand and walk most of the time and lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to reason through varied situations and interpret and relay instructions to clients.
• Regular attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of customer service experience; membership sales experience preferred.
• Interest in health, wellness, and fitness.
• Bilingual skills.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and members with a smile and eye contact.
• Build personal connections and create a welcoming member experience.
• Discuss and sell memberships, upgrades, and personal training through conversations and tours.
• Keep all club areas, including bathrooms and the front desk, clean, organized, and inviting.
• Address member needs quickly and provide helpful solutions.
• Share feedback with leadership to help improve the member experience.
• Work regularly scheduled shifts during business hours to assist members and sell services in person.
