About The Position

This position exists to serve members at the Skyland Branch in Tuscaloosa, AL, as a frontline representative. A Member Experience Representative engages members by onboarding them with Alabama Credit Union, opening new accounts, and providing a relationship-building experience. They assist members with loan requests and financial transactions, including giving and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments, while also identifying opportunities for members to utilize additional products and services. Duties include accurately and efficiently handling basic financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, posting credit card payments, balance transfers, and receiving debit card and check orders. The role requires providing information about products and services to members to serve their financial needs, working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, and demonstrating strong attention to detail and salesmanship.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service skills
  • Cash handling experience
  • Good computer skills (including the ability to use Microsoft Office products and web-based applications)
  • The ability to follow lengthy procedures for account opening
  • The ability to describe and sell products and services to members
  • The ability to change focus efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A desire to help others in your community
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills for personal contact, first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation
  • Diplomacy and tact in communication for confidential and discreet discussions

  • One to three years of similar or related experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Engage members by onboarding them with Alabama Credit Union by opening new accounts and providing a relationship-building experience

  • Provide information about products and services to members in order to serve their financial needs
