About The Position

As the Member Experience Coordinator, you will support AGU’s ability to discover, design, and deliver strong member experiences across the global membership community. This role contributes to research and insight generation, experience design, and delivery support to help AGU better understand member needs and translate those needs into meaningful programs, services, and engagement opportunities. This role supports the development and growth of AGU’s global membership community, including helping research, shape, implement, and scale membership experiences that foster scientific peer learning, collaboration, and impact. Through this work, the Coordinator helps bring AGU’s mission to life by strengthening how scientists connect with one another, grow in their careers, and engage with the broader scientific community. This position works closely with the Member Experience team and cross-functional partners to support pilot efforts, gather feedback, coordinate implementation activities, and prepare successful solutions for broader adoption and scale.

  • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to grow in experience design, innovation, and customer/member-centered work

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into clear insights, themes, and opportunity areas
  • Help develop summaries, journey observations, and other materials that inform team decisions and experience priorities
  • Support feedback loops that ensure member voices help shape AGU’s work
  • Support the translation of member insights into early-stage experience concepts, service improvements, community engagement ideas, and pilot initiatives
  • Contribute to design artifacts such as member need summaries, journey maps, pilot outlines, and concept recommendations
  • Participate in and run co-design sessions and collaborative working meetings with internal stakeholders and members
  • Help ensure proposed solutions reflect member needs, accessibility, inclusivity, and AGU’s mission and brand
  • Support the research, design, and delivery of AGU’s global membership community experience—including AGU Circles, an innovative peer learning and non-traditional mentoring network—with attention to how members connect, learn, collaborate, and contribute across career stages, disciplines, geographies
  • Help coordinate and support initiatives intended to strengthen scientific learning, collaboration, professional connection, and impact
  • Assist with implementation activities for groups and related community pilots, including participant communication, logistics, tracking, and feedback collection
  • Contribute to documenting lessons learned and identifying what is needed to strengthen, expand, or scale successful community-building approaches

  • Support definition of pilot goals, success indicators, and learning questions
  • Gather and organize feedback and performance information to help the team evaluate results and refine future work
  • Maintain documentation of findings, learnings, and recommendations to inform broader delivery and scaling decisions
  • Work closely with Member Experience, Program Operations, Marketing/Communications, Digital/Technology, and other AGU teams to support aligned planning and execution
