Member Development Representative is responsible for conducting outbound follow‑up, sales, and service calls to new and existing members using assigned calling lists. Interacts with lending and corporate staff as needed to assist members or resolve issues, and supports inbound call volume when required. Originates loan applications over the telephone. The role requires a service‑oriented, self‑motivated, and organized individual capable of managing a variety of tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CRM tools to manage member relationships and identify sales opportunities.
  • Achieve production goals by increasing product penetration through outbound member contact.
  • Contribute to reduced check volume by offering members alternative loan‑payment solutions.
  • Demonstrate communication etiquette through appropriate phone and email practices and clear oral and written communication.
  • Assist with inbound calls during high‑volume periods in the Member Service Center and complete service follow‑up calls, including special programs assigned to the Member Development Center.
  • Meet outbound call requirements by completing minimum call expectations across campaign lists such as pre‑approved offers, deposit leads, loan leads, and special campaigns.
  • Originate and process loans by completing telephone and referral‑based applications, interviewing members, reviewing creditworthiness, finalizing funding, and using open‑ended questions to encourage additional applications and cross‑sell Credit Union products.
  • Open new accounts by verifying eligibility, completing ChexSystems reviews, and coordinating with the BSA team when applicants fail OFAC or ChexSystems checks.
  • Process daily member transactions including balance inquiries, fund transfers, transaction‑history research, account‑closure requests, address changes, deposits, loan payments, credit card payments, and debit‑card issuance; includes researching and resolving member concerns across varying levels of complexity.
  • Support follow‑up programs by making service follow‑up calls and meeting call expectations for assigned Member Development Center campaigns.
  • Cultivate a positive, respectful, and collaborative culture -- across the organization--foster strong relationships among staff, departments, branches, and external partners.
  • Champion a caring and inclusive environment for both employees and members, aligned with the Credit Union's mission and values.
