About The Position

This role is part of a pod (a group of nearby branches) within BECU’s Central District. Additional details provided if moved forward in the hiring process. Pod Branches: Kent Station/Redondo/Renton Benson/Renton Landing. Location support based on business needs. Rotation Required: You’ll work across all POD branches for up to your first year or more - this is a core expectation of the role. One-Year Commitment: All Retail new hires are expected to remain in this role, POD, and schedule for a minimum of one year before pursuing other opportunities within BECU. Training: Training will include travel to the Tukwila Financial Center. Travel Required: The ability to commute between branches & training location is required. Flexibility Required: Schedules are typically given 30 days in advance but you may be asked to adapt to varying schedules and branch assignments based on business needs. Training Schedule: 12 weeks, Monday–Friday, Variable shifts between 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Post-Training Schedule: Variable shifts between Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Up to 3 Saturdays per month: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment
  • Ability to successfully complete 12-week in-house training program after hire
  • Ability to work flexible shifts

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a financial institution
  • Spanish language fluency highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently
  • Strong proficiency and comfort level with learning new systems and programs; with the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product and service solutions
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products and services offered.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to enable daily communication with Members
  • Problem resolution, negotiating, organization, multi-tasking and peer coaching skills

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in delivering a seamless and high-quality member experience.
  • Identify, diagnose, and address members’ consumer financial needs using expertise in BECU’s products.
  • Refer members to specialized services when necessary.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, resolving members' needs and providing expertise in specialized financial services.
  • Utilize product knowledge to provide excellent customer service and sales, including areas of business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts.
  • Sign all line and loan documents that originate through outbound/inbound call center, ensuring each Member’s needs are fulfilled.
  • Assist the community with financial wellness, which could involve financial education programs, assistance with budgeting, debt management, or access to financial planning resources.
