A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN MEMBER CARE REPRESENTATIVE As an entry-level Member Care Representative, you are a customer service master who ensures that our members only have positive experiences with our credit union. The Member Care Representative (MCR) serves as a trusted resource for Credit Union members by providing exceptional service and financial guidance through phone, digital, and occasional in-person interactions. This role focuses on building member relationships, resolving inquiries, processing account transactions, and identifying solutions that help members achieve their financial goals. The ideal candidate is service-focused, empathetic, and committed to delivering a positive member experience with every interaction. WORK SCHEDULE FOR A FULL TIME MCR Hours may vary based on business needs and may include: Monday through Friday: 8:30 AM to 9600 PM 30-40 Hours per week with varying schedule

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish professional relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and basic business software.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial products and services clearly and effectively.
  • Active listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills to identify and address member needs.
  • Ability to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate products, services, and solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and computer applications.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of Credit Union products, services, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of banking, credit union, financial services, retail, or call center experience.
  • Experience opening accounts and servicing consumer financial products.
  • Knowledge of deposit products, consumer lending, and digital banking services.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional member service through phone, digital, and in-person interactions while creating positive member experiences.
  • Build strong member relationships by actively listening, identifying needs, and providing personalized financial solutions.
  • Resolve member inquiries, account issues, and concerns accurately and efficiently, with a focus on first-contact resolution.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, account maintenance requests, and other transactions with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist members with account openings, account closures, debit card services, online banking, mobile banking, and other electronic services.
  • Educate members on Credit Union products, services, digital tools, and self-service options to promote financial well-being.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen member relationships through referrals, product recommendations, and consultative conversations.
  • Handle sensitive situations professionally, escalate complex issues when appropriate, and ensure compliance with all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to achieve service, operational, and member experience goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of Credit Union products, services, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training, process improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
