About The Position

The Member Associate plays a vital administrative and customer service role within Northern Credit Union’s branch operations. Working closely with the Member Advisors and Market Manager, the Member Associate supports the end-to-end loan process by managing and submitting documentation, maintaining client records, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a key liaison between clients and the lending team, helping facilitate smooth and timely loan approvals while delivering a high standard of service. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced branch environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of retail loan products and banking procedures.
  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the use of modern office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with members and co-workers in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail while working under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in business or finance is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the end-to-end loan process by managing and submitting documentation, maintaining client records, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as a key liaison between clients and the lending team, helping facilitate smooth and timely loan approvals while delivering a high standard of service.
  • Opens personal and business accounts.
  • Supports estate administration processes.
  • Assists with online banking services.
  • Processes investments and renewals.
  • Promotes and supports Visa sales.
  • Responds to member inquiries.
  • Manages the branch email inbox and voicemail.
  • Confirms member appointments.
  • Proactively ensures members receive exceptional service by identifying cross-selling opportunities and referring members to the appropriate sales representative, partner, or alternative delivery channel.
  • Performs Member Representative duties as required.
