About The Position

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc. located in Anniston, Alabama has a century of success in manufacturing and selling ductile iron fittings, joint restraints, and valve boxes for the waterworks industry. Perform a wide variety of grinder tasks, including but not limited to grinding ductile iron pipe fittings, ensuring the fittings meet quality expectations, keep work area clean and free of safety hazards, and perform any and all other job-related tasks assigned. Newly hired employees start at $25.60 per hour. We offer company paid life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability coverage, a Company-matched 401(K) plan, and ten (10) paid holidays. Employees are eligible for five (5) vacation days after six (6) months of continuous employment. All candidates offered employment must submit to a drug screen, physical, and background check.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of furnace and ladle repair.
Basic knowledge of the process of capturing iron / base chemistry samples
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

Interpret work orders and verbal instructions to determine tasks and material requirements.
Conduct daily furnace inspections.
Use of pneumatic air tools.
Operate a remote-controlled overhead crane.
Operating air / gas-controlled ladle torches
Maintain transfer ladles during operation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Meet or exceed hourly production targets.
Report equipment issues or production errors to supervisors.
