About The Position

The Melt Technician works in Plant 4’s Ti-Ingot Operation on an off-shift. The role sets up, operates, and monitors VAR furnaces; records operating information and completes assigned paperwork; and performs minor furnace maintenance, including troubleshooting vacuum leaks, repairing or replacing furnace components, and checking and maintaining fluid levels. The technician also keeps the furnace and work area clean, follows applicable EHS rules, and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of work experience, or six months of continuous manufacturing experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing and/or casting experience.
• Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor VAR furnaces.
• Read and record vital information and complete assigned paperwork.
• Perform minor furnace maintenance, including troubleshooting vacuum leaks, repairing and replacing furnace components, and checking and maintaining fluid levels.
• Perform housekeeping activities to keep the furnace and work area clean.
• Comply with EHS rules required for the work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
