About The Position

Position: Melt Shop Helper (one opening on 1st shift and one opening on 2nd shift) Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: · Repairs and maintains ladles in use in the melt shop and other duties to assist in the process of melting iron Must be comfortable around liquid iron and large furnaces. · Support the Operation and loading of furnaces with scrap iron utilizing overhead crane to a specified temperature for processing. · Help Monitor and regulate temperature controls and heating time. · Assist in Identifying, measuring and adding alloys to ladle iron pouring preparation. · Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure production conformity. · Perform other duties as required. Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities: · Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance as well as using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes. · Experience inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects. · Ability to work in and around extreme heat. · Experience operating crane and forklift. · Basic computer skills. · High school diploma or GED. Work Environment and Physical Demands: · Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials. · The ability to see details at close and distant range with depth perception and the ability to see colors. · Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials. · Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures. · Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. Job Type: Full Time. Hourly, non-exempt. Requirements
