Basic Job Functions: Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Melt Shop Mechanical Technician. Responsibilities include the execution of a reliability-based maintenance program to ensure optimum performance of Melt Shop equipment, as well as to develop and implement projects for continuous improvement. Positions will be on rotating shifts to provide coverage for the steel-making equipment. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Must have an Associate's degree in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance, a related technical field, or 3 years of Industrial Mechanical Maintenance experience
• Industrial mechanical experience consisting of welding, fabrication, or millwright experience

Nice To Haves

• Previous heavy industrial maintenance or steel-making experience
