About The Position

The purpose of this position is to melt the elements used to produce the alloy required for the production of rare earth magnets and to crush alloy in preparation for the ball milling and jet milling operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret part prints.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to required safety precautions: Hydrogen, Material handling (lift up to 25 lbs.), Nitrogen/Argon gases
  • Clean and prepare furnaces and work area to set standards.
  • Accurately weigh material as specified for melt load amount/alloy type and transfer material into the furnace.
  • Organize raw material so that correct material lots are used.
  • Identify flaws in coil boxes and crucibles.
  • Repair coil boxes and crucibles when necessary.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance.
  • Continually monitor furnace for melt accuracy.
  • Meet established production rates and quality standards.
  • Verify and accurately record data into ERP computer system, manufacturing routers, logs, databases and control charts.
  • Perform in process inspection as required.
