About The Position

The primary duty is to tutor students enrolled in the MEIP program (Music English Intensive Program). Tutors will work with students in one-on-one or small group sessions to assist with class assignments, improve English proficiency, and build confidence in academic communication. Responsibilities include explaining vocabulary and grammar, helping students organize and edit written work, and offering conversational practice. Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer employment requires pre-registration for the upcoming fall semester.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (students in their first semester are exempt).
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Taken LENG-111 (Intro to College Writing) and made a high grade in the course.
  • Completed the ESL course sequence and/or the MEIP course sequence at Berklee.
