This role is primarily responsible for the installation and maintenance of overhead distribution conductors and equipment. The technician will also participate in underground construction and perform large equipment removal or setting, including pad mount transformers. Requirements

  • Must presently have a working knowledge of all phases of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance and Operating.
  • Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers and groundwork with utility line crew required.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time, out of town, and work unpredictable hours.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • 5+ years of Medium Voltage experience.
  • Eagerness to advance to the next level and assist in the growth of the team.
  • Good critical thinking skills and the capability to troubleshoot and make logical project-minded decisions.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction.
  • Self-starter and team player.
  • Must be available to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and maintenance of overhead distribution conductors and equipment.
  • Participation in underground construction.
  • Performing large equipment removal or setting, including pad mount transformers.
  • Construction of 15, 25, 35 kV poles.
  • MV Cable terminations including live front, load break and dead break.
  • Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system.
  • Create/view a site layout from construction drawings.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
