About The Position

Londonderry Village is a vibrant, active senior living community located in Palmyra, PA, serving over 620 residents across independent living, personal care, and skilled nursing. As a Medication Technician on the Personal Care (PC) unit, the role involves safely preparing and administering medications, providing hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and adhering to each resident’s personalized care plan. This position offers an opportunity to build meaningful relationships and contribute to seniors living with comfort, respect, and independence.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to meet state licensing requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED required to get started.
  • Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Medication Technician certification or be willing to obtain upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience as a Personal Care Aide (PCA) or Medication Technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Health & Wellness: Administer medications and treatments to residents as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compassion in every interaction.
  • Stay on Track: Record all medication administration and treatments using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with attention to detail and compliance.
  • Follow the Rules: Meet all regulatory requirements set by the PA Department of Human Services, including timely completion of medication administration training and renewals.
  • Lead with Confidence: Take charge of the unit during your shift to keep everything running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Act Quickly: Report any incidents or changes in a resident’s condition promptly to the PC Administrator or their designee.
  • Document with Care: Complete incident and change-of-condition reports thoroughly and on time.
  • Keep Us Stocked: Reorder medications, treatments, and nursing supplies as needed to ensure consistent care delivery.
  • Listen & Respond: Address resident and family concerns with empathy and professionalism and communicate issues to the PC Administrator for resolution.
  • Provide Personal Care: Assist residents with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) – including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting – following individual support plans.
  • Be Emergency-Ready: Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or disaster situations.
  • Maintain Privacy: Uphold strict confidentiality standards in line with HIPAA and all applicable privacy laws.
  • Follow the Plan: Recognize each resident’s unique care needs and deliver services according to their individualized care plan.
  • Work Safely: Perform all duties with safety in mind, following established policies and procedures.
