This position is responsible for assisting and administering medications as outlined by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, to include verifying the accuracy of the medications administered, documenting, reporting errors, and reordering medications as required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Six months of related work experience
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Colorado Identification Card
  • Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that align with the values of the Hilltop’s Life Adjustment Program (LAP), including Service 1, how we treat each other, and Service 2, how we treat the residents. Service 1 and Service 2 is demonstrated by setting boundaries, being predictable, consistent, kind, and transparent.
  • Administer medications as outlined by physician orders by verifying medications to the Medications Administration Record.
  • Strictly follow the rights of medication administration process including right medication, right resident, right dose, right time, right route, right reason, and right documentation.
  • Follow all Corporate, Program, and State Medication Administration policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Monitor the narcotic medications by counting all assigned narcotics prior to receiving control over the medication cart; conduct a narcotic count prior to giving control of the medication cart to any other individual.
  • Complete assigned documentation within prescribed timelines promptly, accurately, and legibly.
  • Report all medication errors immediately and completes the required documentation for medication errors.
  • Clean assigned medication carts prior to the end of the shift by emptying trash, wiping down the cart, organizing medications, and replenishing supplies.
  • Clean the medication room prior to the end of each shift by emptying trash, wiping down the sink and refrigerator, dusting, sweeping, mopping, organizing medications, and replenishing supplies.
  • Participate in assigned meetings and trainings.
