About The Position

American House Senior Living Communities is seeking a compassionate and dependable Medication Technician to safely administer medications and provide quality care to residents in an Assisted Living and Memory Care community. The role supports residents with medication administration, daily living needs, observation and reporting, and participation in social and recreational activities. The Medication Technician also helps maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment and follows applicable safety, infection control, and emergency response procedures.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Technician/Medication Aide certification program.
• Ability to accurately administer medications and maintain documentation.
• Strong communication and resident-service skills.
• Minimum age of 18 years.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medication Technician, Med Aide, or Certified Medication Aide.
• Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, or Senior Living.
• Knowledge of dementia and related cognitive conditions.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with state regulations and physician orders.
• Complete medication administration records (MARs) and required documentation promptly and accurately.
• Observe residents and report changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing leadership.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene and grooming, dressing and bathing, mobility and transfers, incontinence care, and dining.
• Maintain security and accountability of medication carts, keys, and controlled substances.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and healthcare providers.
• Encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Follow safety, infection control, and emergency response procedures.
• Participate in required training and team meetings.
