About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring Medication Technicians at Maple Ridge of Essex. This is a rewarding role working with seniors. Candidates must be 18 years or older. Overnight shifts are available from 11pm - 7am. A weekend shift differential of $1.00 is offered for the 11pm - 7am shift. The wage band is $24.00 - $27.00 per hour based on years of experience. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for full-time employees, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus is available for part-time employees. A travel stipend is also mentioned. Requirements

  • Must have completed the course, as required by State Regulation to administer medication.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.
  • Current Med Aide or LMNA certification/license or completed required training as dictated by State Regulation.
  • Must maintain required certification/license and provide copies of the documentation to the Resident Care Director or designee.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs. and be able to carry objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand.
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
  • Must use good body mechanics.
  • Stamina to make visits to residents throughout the community.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling, assisting of residents weighing (~150 lbs.).
  • Have the ability to occasionally push an occupied wheelchair for a distance of up to 200 feet.
  • Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided.
  • Associate may be subject to potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, and to handling hazardous chemicals (either Category 1 or 2).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimers disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense unit dose medications, making required record entries and notifying the nurse about self-administered medications.
  • Order and receive medications per State regulation and LCB policies and procedures.
  • Assist Residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including toileting, dressing, bathing, eating, and walking, as described in the service plan.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status, and report/document any noticed changes immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Supervise or assist Residents with activity programs.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in the community's regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs.
  • Participate in specialized staff training programs and mandatory education requirements dictated by state regulations upon request of the Resident Care Director.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and activities as needed.
  • Document both scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, as well as resident refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
