About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring a Medication Technician at The Residence at Stafford. This role is crucial in providing care and support to residents, ensuring their medication needs are met and assisting them with daily living activities. Requirements

  • Must have completed the course required by State Regulation to administer medication.
  • Must have CPR and First Aid training as mandated by the State.
  • Ability to use a computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in oral and written English communication.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including word processing, or the ability to learn data input.
  • Current Med Aide or LMNA certification/license or completed required training as dictated by State Regulation.
  • Must maintain required certification/license and provide copies to the Resident Care Director or designee.
  • Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs. and be able to carry objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts, and continuously walk, sit and stand.
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
  • Must use good body mechanics.
  • Stamina to make visits to residents throughout the community.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling, assisting of residents weighing (~150 lbs.).
  • Ability to occasionally push an occupied wheelchair for a distance of up to 200 feet.
  • Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided.
  • Associate may be subject to potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, and to handling hazardous chemicals (either Category 1 or 2).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training is preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense unit dose medications, making required record entries and notifying the nurse of self-administered medications as per regulations and policy.
  • Order and receive medications according to State regulation and LCB policies.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including toileting, dressing, bathing, eating, and walking, as per their service plan.
  • Monitor residents for changes in needs, preferences, and health status, reporting and documenting any changes immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Supervise or assist residents with activity programs.
  • Assist residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist residents with keeping their living units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Respond to emergency calls and attend to residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training as required.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and activities as needed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, as well as resident refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
