About The Position

Allegro Parkland, a senior living community, is seeking a Full-Time and Part-Time Medication Technician for morning shifts in their Assisted Living community. The role involves accurately administering medications, monitoring residents for side effects, maintaining records, and providing compassionate care. The position offers consistent 7am-3pm hours, allowing for afternoons off. The Medication Assistant provides resident care services, including assistance with self-administration of medication, under the supervision of the Resident Care Director, and helps maintain a positive environment.

Requirements

  • 6-Hour Medication Technician certification — required
  • 2-Hour CEU — required
  • CPR certification — required
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must possess current Medication Training certification
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening

Nice To Haves

  • CNA certification — preferred
  • Assisted Living experience — preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication accuracy
  • Dependable, compassionate, and a strong team player
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with senior adults highly preferred
  • May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on the state requirements; if licensed or certified, must be in good standing with the state licensing or certifying agency
  • Certification in CPR and first aid preferred or as required by the State
  • Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately administer medications to Assisted Living residents per physician orders and care plans
  • Monitor residents for medication side effects and changes in condition
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation
  • Provide compassionate care and support to residents throughout your shift
  • Build genuine connections with residents
  • Assist residents with medications as allowed under State guidelines
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, positioning, transfer, mobility, and incontinence care
  • Work closely with and maintain daily communications with the Resident Services associates to ensure continuity of care and services is maintained for the residents
  • Participate in resident activities and lead resident activities as needed
  • Meet customer service standards in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner with resident satisfaction a priority
