About The Position

We’re seeking a Medication Technician who is detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about delivering high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Active Medication Technician Certification from an approved training program
  • In good standing with the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry
  • Successful completion of state-approved competency exam
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in pediatric, long-term care, or ICF/I/DD setting
  • Experience with electronic medical documentation systems
  • Current certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, BLS (Adult & Pediatric)
  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer medications accurately and in a timely manner
  • Document all medications administered in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
  • Complete medication check-offs during shift changes with incoming staff
  • Identify and report discrepancies in medications or documentation
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Communicate with physicians, dentists, and clinical staff regarding resident needs and follow-up care
  • Assist nursing staff with feeding equipment and prescribed formulas
  • Support routine health monitoring, including weights (monthly) and heights (quarterly)
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and storage of medical supplies
  • Complete assigned resident monthly summaries
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership
