About The Position
Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a PRN Medication Room Assistant to join our team at Vienna Correctional Center located in Vienna, Illinois. The Medication Room Assistant works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
Requirements
- Be a high school graduate or hold a GED
- 1 year correctional health care or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- History of being well organized, communication effectively and detail oriented
- Knowledge of correctional healthcare principles and practices preferred; along with knowledge of applicable state and federal laws
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Responsibilities
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of medication room records
- Assist with the maintenance of medication room inventory and audit procedures
- Maintain the security of all medications and supplies under their control or supervision
- Processes supply requests in a prompt, cooperative and efficient manner
- Confirms ordered medications are received
- Logs outgoing medications
- Assists with the delivery of medications as determined by site administration
