About The Position

The Medication Reimbursement Specialist will facilitate and coordinate the submission of application forms for access to medication assistance for outpatients. This role serves as the centralized point of contact for physicians, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists, and will be actively involved with government, community-based, and private agencies that provide financial assistance for medications. The specialist will also act as an advisor to patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding medication access and reimbursement.

Requirements

• At minimum, completion of a two year community college program in an Allied Health related discipline or recognized equivalent required
• At minimum, two years practical and related experience
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in rheumatology, oncology, ophthalmology or related Outpatient setting
• Knowledge and experience with public and private medication access/reimbursement programs and relevant agencies

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge in specialty drugs (eg. rheumatology, ophthalmology, hepatology etc.)
