About The Position

Reporting to the PPG Call Center Manager and working in the Centralized Refill group, this role assists patients with medication management, refills, and other duties as assigned. The specialist collaborates with other teams within the Access Center, including PPG Schedulers, the RN Triage team, and the Medication Authorization team, to ensure patient needs related to medication management are met. The role utilizes Epic (or the current Electronic Medical Record) as the official patient record for documenting all medication management review activities, including appointment history, scheduling new appointments, reviewing previous telephone encounters, and adhering to Epic drug protocols to ensure safe medication management practices.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent GED required.
• Successful completion of an Indiana Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician Training program.
• Must have an Indiana Board of Pharmacy Tech license or a current State Board of Indiana license as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern.
• Minimum of one year pharmacy experience (retail work preferred or Institutional Pharmacy work) required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have basic computer skills to include knowledge of Electronic Medical Record’s.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with medication management and refills.
