Medication Assistant, Assisted Living - NOC
About The Position
Spectrum Retirement Communities is seeking a Medication Assistant to support residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care. This full-time position works an overnight shift. The Medication Assistant maintains and orders medications, assists residents with medication needs, and transcribes and documents information in the Medication Assistance Record. The role also includes assisting with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, communicating with outside health care professionals as needed, and transporting residents within the community. The Medication Assistant responds promptly and appropriately to emergency calls, requests from residents or visitors, and environmental hazards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification.
- Experience working with an elderly population.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
- Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
- Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living.
- Take vital signs and provide first aid and wound care.
- Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
- Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
- Respond to emergency calls, resident or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
