About The Position

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Medication Assistant will assist with self-administration of routine medications to residents. The Medication Assistant will also monitor residents for change in condition of the resident’s physical or mental condition and report to the nurse. The Medication Assistant will be required to take vital signs and weights of the residents. Other duties as assigned within in the scope of practice of a Certified Nurse Aide. There are two opportunities for schedules in this position: Mon-Fri 2:00pm to 10:00pm Saturday and Sunday 6:30am to 10:00pm

Requirements

  • 21 years old or older
  • Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must complete and pass the YBGR Medication Aide Course within 30 days of hire date.
  • Ability to competently perform duties of Medication Assistant within the scope of license as a Medication Aide I.
  • Display regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work.
  • Ability to relate and build rapport with youth while serving as a positive role model for the youth.
  • Excellent time management skills, organizational skills and flexibility
  • Good computer skills and able to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.
  • The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine medications to youth as prescribed in accordance with applicable YBGR policies and procedures, laws, statues, license and /or certification.
  • Monitor youth’s physical or mental condition and report to the nurse.
  • Take vital signs, weights, heights on youth.
  • Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes.
  • Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization, both individually and as a team member.
  • Deal constructively and helpfully with all other members of the organization.
