About The Position
The Medication Assistance Coordinator serves as the hub for prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, co-pay assistance program, foundation programs, and additional programs allowing patients to access medications associated with key service lines within the medical center as well as health system clinics. This position is responsible for providing front line, direct contact with patients, families, providers, nurses, social workers and pharmacies. The Medication Assistance Coordinator performs all the essential functions of the Senior Pharmacy Technician.
Requirements
- High School Diploma General or GED General
- CPHT - Cert Pharmacy Tech or CPHT-ADV - Advanced Cert Pharmacy Tech
- PHT Registered Pharmacy Tech
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician is Required
Nice To Haves
- Associates is Preferred
- Minimum 3 years in medication assistance or similar role in a physician's office, medical center, or pharmacy is Preferred.
Responsibilities
- Screens, processes and completes prior authorization, patient assistance, co-pay assistance, foundation assistance and other medication programs
- Follows up with patients & providers on refill and reauthorizations as required by payers or assistance programs
- Processes prescriptions through IT platforms in an accurate manner
- Coordinates shipping and delivery activities associated with common carrier and courier services to assure accurate and timely medication delivery
