Medication Aide
About The Position
The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents who need assistance, following state regulatory requirements and safe-administration practices. The aide observes residents taking medication, notes its effects—including unexpected or adverse effects—and accurately records required information in residents’ medication administration records. The aide communicates concerns and observations to the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator, or designated personnel. The Medication Aide also supports residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health. The role encourages resident independence and choice while preserving dignity through professional conduct and interactions.
