About The Position

Eventide Prairie Commons in Grand Island is hiring a full-time Medication Aide (MA40). The scheduled shift is 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (eight hours), with an every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The role provides activities-of-daily-living assistance and, while working as an MA40, prepares and administers medications and treatments under an RN’s direction, within scope of practice, and in accordance with physician orders and facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Active, good-standing MA40 license required.
• Active CNA license in the state of Nebraska required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring or ambulation, and continence.
• Assist with senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers, and orientation of new employees.
• Follow department protocol for submitting completed documentation.
• Prioritize assignments and adjust throughout the shift to meet changing or overlapping needs of seniors/clients, caregivers, team members, and managers, including responding to call lights when necessary.
• Perform position-related duties in the assigned work environment as assigned by Eventide, regardless of team-member preference.
• Follow the comprehensive care plan or service plan developed for each senior/client.
• Comply with HIPAA privacy regulations and safeguard protected health information at all times.
• As an MA40, prepare and administer medications and treatments under the direction of an RN, within scope of practice, as ordered by a physician and according to facility policies and procedures.
