Medication Aide - Full-Time - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Hultquist Place Assisted Living is seeking two Full-Time Medication Aides for 2nd Shift to support our residents and care team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new and growing role that focuses on resident-centered care, safety, and independence. The Medication Aide assists residents in our Assisted Living Program (ALP) with the self-administration of medications in accordance with New York State regulations and individualized service plans. This role supports resident safety, dignity, and independence while working under the direction of licensed nursing staff. This position is non-clinical and follows NYS ALP/ACF guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Successful completion of Hultquist Place’s in-house medication assistance training program, including demonstrated competency, is required prior to independent assignment and will be provided upon hire
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
Nice To Haves
- 1-3 years of experience with medication assistance
- Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or healthcare
- Experience working with older adults
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with self-administration of medications per service plans
- Follow MAR/eMAR documentation and medication assistance procedures
- Observe and report changes in condition, side effects, or refusals
- Document assistance accurately and timely
- Ensure proper medication storage and safety practices
- Promote resident independence, dignity, and privacy
- Collaborate with nurses, aides, and the care team
- Participate in required training and quality initiatives
