Requirements

  • Current Medication Aide/Medication Technician certification, as required by state regulations
  • Ability to safely administer and document medications according to physician orders and facility policies
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and basic infection-control practices
  • Ability to accurately document medication administration and report changes in residents’ conditions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to working with residents
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect residents’ privacy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility employment requirements
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents as needed

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, assisted living, nursing home, or long-term care setting preferred
  • At least two years of experience in long-term care
