About The Position

The Medication Aide is responsible for the supervision of self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and Senior Solutions Management Group (SSMG) guidelines. This role involves reporting changes in resident health, responding to emergencies, maintaining communication with staff, and providing educational meetings. The Medication Aide must understand their role in safety and disaster plans, maintain resident confidentiality, and adhere to all SSMG policies and procedures. A positive and professional demeanor is expected at all times.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensed CNA, Home Health Aid, Personal Care Aid must possess at least one certification.
Successful completion of the medication administration training course approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

Responsibilities

Supervision of self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and SSMG guidelines.
Reporting any change in resident’s health and provides proper documentation to the Wellness Director.
Responding quickly to all emergencies.
Maintaining close communication with all departments and staff members.
Providing educational meetings for residents and staff as requested by Supervisor.
Understanding role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
Maintaining confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
Attending all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
Striving to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and co-workers.
Adhering to all policies and procedures of SSMG.
Performing other duties as assigned.
