Bluff Recovery is seeking a dependable and compassionate Medication Administration Technician to join our exceptional team in Augusta, GA. This role is essential in supporting safe and accurate medication administration while helping create a structured, therapeutic environment for clients receiving substance use and behavioral health treatment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–5 years of related healthcare or medical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or mental health settings is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound, ethical decisions.
  • Professionalism, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, licensing standards, and CARF regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete medication-related paperwork for new admissions.
  • Verify client medications during intake and admission.
  • Assist the medical department with documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Support and oversee medication administration in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Serve as a practicum observer for newly trained staff in medication administration.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and onsite staff to ensure client needs are met.
  • Maintain clear communication through verbal reports and written logs.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Provide support to clients regarding treatment needs and concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, orderly, and therapeutic environment.
  • Assist with crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Observe client behavioral and emotional needs and provide feedback to the treatment team.
  • Transport clients as needed.
  • Complete admission paperwork and other assigned duties.
