About The Position

MJH Life Sciences is seeking a Medical Writer to develop accurate, engaging, and compliant scientific content for healthcare professionals, patients, and industry stakeholders. The role translates complex clinical data into clear deliverables across articles, white papers, slide decks, digital media, and live event content. The Medical Writer works with scientific directors, editors, designers, subject matter experts, and key opinion leaders to meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, and standards of scientific integrity.

The position develops and reviews content for print, digital, and live formats, monitors developments in assigned therapeutic areas, and applies AMA style, brand guidelines, and relevant industry regulations. AI tools are expected to support research and writing workflows, with rigorous verification of AI-assisted content against primary sources before it enters review. The role also includes reviewing personal work and quality-checking colleagues' content.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule. The stated compensation range is $85,000–$95,000 per year, depending on qualifications, with eligibility for an annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of medical writing, scientific communication, or related editorial experience.
• Experience writing for healthcare professionals, patients, or industry audiences.
• Familiarity with AMA style and medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex topics accessible without compromising scientific accuracy.
• Familiarity with AI research and writing tools and a working understanding of responsible use in a compliance-sensitive environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
• Be prepared to discuss current AI tools and workflows, verification of AI-assisted output against primary sources, and how AI use is balanced with scientific accuracy, regulatory compliance, and brand standards.

Nice To Haves

• An advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) in a life science or medical discipline.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field with relevant experience is considered.
• Examples of AI-assisted workflows that improved research efficiency, draft quality, or management of concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, clear, and compliant scientific and medical content for print, digital, and live formats.
• Review and synthesize clinical trial results, research studies, and other scientific materials into communications appropriate for healthcare professionals, patients, and industry audiences.
• Work with subject matter experts, key opinion leaders, and internal teams to gather information and validate content.
• Follow AMA style, brand guidelines, and applicable industry regulations, including fair-balance and disclosure requirements.
• Contribute to multi-channel content, including webinars, podcasts, infographics, and interactive learning tools.
• Use AI tools to support literature synthesis, outlining, and draft development, and rigorously fact-check and scientifically verify output.
• Review and proofread own work and provide quality checks for other team members' content.
• Monitor developments in assigned therapeutic areas to inform content creation and keep materials current.
