About The Position
Saint Mary's Hospital is seeking an organized, focused, and collaborative individual to join their Pathology Lab Team as a Medical Word Specialist. This role supports a busy Pathology office, handling addendum reports, customer service, and managing outgoing testing via FedEx. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a Windows computer environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of dictation & transcription word-processing systems and equipment.
- Evidence of ability to transcribe all work types.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in an Allied Health Field.
- One year of working experience in a medical office or hospital.
- Three years of experience as a Medical Word Specialist /Transcriptionist in an acute-care setting.
Responsibilities
- Customer service, including faxing and answering phone calls.
- Placing occasional orders and providing Kronos support.
- Addendums of Pathology Lab reports.
- Supporting the Pathology Team with additional office tasks as needed.
- Sending out testing via FedEx.
