Requirements
- MD/DO degree from an accredited school.
- Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a related specialty.
- Active, unrestricted Massachusetts Medical License and DEA/MCSR registration.
- Vaccinated against influenza (flu).
Nice To Haves
- Specialized Training or documented experience in Obesity Medicine is highly preferred (e.g., Board Certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine, or equivalent).
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and follow-up medical visits, including history, physical exams, and lab review.
- Formulate and manage individualized, evidence-based medical weight loss plans. This includes prescribing and adjusting FDA-approved weight loss pharmacotherapy.
- Diagnose and manage metabolic conditions (e.g., Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia) often associated with obesity.
- Work closely with the existing Weight Management Team (e.g., Dietitians, Behavioral Health Specialists, Exercise Physiologists) to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain timely and accurate records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), like Epic.
